Jesus Piece

The Game returns with a heavy dose of guest appearances on his fifth offering, including Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx and 2 Chainz. But like his last album, "The R.E.D. Album," he isn't outshined by any of the features on "Jesus Piece." The Game I would call an average rapper, for me to like his album, he has to prove himself. The feelings seem to be mutual with many hip-hop fans. With this album he has proved himself. I will attack his personality, he in a way is not supporting Jesus Christ in this album but mocking him or just takes him lightly. I know The Game is a believer of Christ but this album is not the best reflection of his personality. He does praise Jesus in one of his songs but follows it with profanity and his unworldly desires. He shows how his street cats feel about church and the Bible. But religion can be a touchy subject, and this album is much more than that.
The album is overall pretty good, but if I had to use complete honesty, there is truly 3 good songs. These songs would be "Ali Bomaye", "See No Evil", and "All That (Lady)". This is his last album with Interscope Records and its not a finale but a strong finish. None the less how this album reflects his ignorant personality along with several other rappers who feel as if they respect God but truly don't. O.N.I.F.C.

One Night In First Class or O.N.I.F.C., the title of Wiz Khalifa's extremely anticipated album was released on December 4th. The albums clean name is "One Night In First Class" the regular version means "Only N@#$% In First Class". But beside the title name it was very satisfying. Not hard for a huge Khalifa fan to say like myself, but the album is all about fame, fortune, and drugs. As expected from Mr. Camron Jibil Thomaz, he moved from the economy class and writing of passionate subjects in his last album "Rolling Papers", to an album of wealth and he has almost come to the mainstream light. The album was over anticipated as are many albums but none the less it was still very well-done overall. The album provokes his "chill" flow, also how he has become filthy rich, and simply how he is on the luxurious side of life, now do you understand the title "O.N.I.F.C."?

                  Khalifa stated "The album is about who I am, where I come from, and what I do best." Which can mean a number of things. Khalifa has created a masterpiece, although he flaunts his fame and fortune, he has created something memorable. He receives his usual skeptcs who may say his beats are repetitive. But be a true fan and have your own opinion as I do. The album is great no matter how you look at it, and a man such as Camron deserves all his fortune because he works day and night for it. You could say he has a dream job if you are in to hip-hop the way I am. Regardless, you must respect the man and give this album a listen. As a working individual, you should use this album as motivation. If you work hard and play hard, maybe one day you will be upgraded to first class and receive moist towels, ample legroom, and an extra bag of peanuts like Wiz Khalifa.  Follow me on twitter @tysoeee27 and thanks for reading. One Night

Timeflies, the up-and-coming electro-rap duo, recently released their sophomore studio EP, One Night. As the number 2 album on iTunes and it being an "extended play" album or EP for only containing six songs, they have proved themselves considerably.  With"Swoon" being the top song right in front of "One Night" the sensational Youtube duo has already set up a tour for the album. Covering and remixing popular songs on the airwaves today to step out the mainstream light of hip-hop as the boys put their own mix on original hits. The duo has created quite a fan-base.  

            Timeflies consists of producer Rob Resnick and vocalist Cal Shapiro. Resnick does an exellent job creating top quality sound, and Shapiro has an excellent flow in his rapping, featuring a phenomenal flow with a very surprising singing voice aside. "One Night" has received great reviews as usual. I personally am a fan of covers from songs, its a way of making the original version better. In my book nobody does it better than Cal and Rob. Global Warming

On his seventh studio album, “Global Warming,” Mr. Worldwide convinces us that we all need a break from our workaday lives. By break he means continue on a never-ending party streak while listening to his spanglish "hip-hop". Most of the time i give positive reviews on albums I enjoy, but this album is not my favorite. The whole album is dedicated to partying and drinking. Who doesn't love to party? But who loves to listen to an album of only party songs. Dont get me wrong there are some good songs like "Feel This Moment (ft. Christina Aguilera)" which has a nice beat with a powerful chorus line.

            I have always argued that Pitbull is an average artist at best. This being his seventh album, you would think it would be better but there is just no diversity in this album. But what is nice about the album is there is no age limit to partying in Pitbull's world. He reaches out to older folks in this album saying you should always be able to let loose and have a good time, no matter the age. Mr. Worldwide is a very generous guy as he donates to many charities. But not to stray from the point that this album was average at best.

Trilogy

If you checked out completely in 2011, Trilogy has all the makings of a blockbuster: 22-year old Toronto native Abel Tefsaye developed a state-of-the-art R&B masterpiece and scored several high ratings. The Weeknd or Abel has become a very popular guy to lisen to in America they're associates of megastar Drake, and have played sold-out club shows and rapturously received festival appearance. Trilogy has three discs which is why the album has the name TRI-logy, tri meaning three for those of you who dont know. It has been a very highly anticipated album with various artists. He uses his own spin to his music and expresses real life rather than the usual "One Direction Baloney".

                 I personally love the Weeknd as he featured in Wiz Khalifa's single "Remember You" which will appear in his upcoming album O.N.I.F.C., which releases in December. He also features in Drake's "Take Care" album that released in 2011 in the song "Crew Love". Trilogy has reached no. 2 at the top of the Billboard's list. He uses three discs to show his incredible talent and I believe this is only the beginning for Abel. He has an even brighter future as if this isn't enough for the critics.

Dreams & Nightmares

 Meek Mill had high expectations for his upcoming album, "Dreams and Nightmares" that was released on October 26th. Robert Williams (born May 6, 1987), better known by his stage name Meek Mill, is an American rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was briefly signed to T.I.’s label Grand Hustle Records and in February 2011 signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group. From there he has been an independent rapper and this could be his "breakthrough album". None the less he is a great rapper but i personally believe there are about 2-3 really strong songs on the album. It has received some great views but i am not the biggest fan of the Maybach music group. Although, I can listen to Meek Mill in some songs. 

                 So maybe Dreams and Nightmares is something to celebrate, even though it's imperfect. After navigating that push-pull, Meek Mill has emerged with an album that is distinct in both voice and sound and also plays to his strengths. It is tense and dramatic, with variations of piano constituting the bedrock of the album and Meek rapping passionately even by his own standards. Be sure to check it out on iTunes and in stores now. Red- Special Edition

By now if you've read my blog before, you know the I review hip-hop albums. But this week I am reviewing a pop album, Taylor Swifts album "Red". Red is known for its soft tones, upbeat tones, guitar magic, great rhythms, and something all girls can relate too. The album came out with many singles to get these T-Swift fans warmed up "Never Getting Back Together", "Knew You Were Trouble", and "Red". It sold 1.2 million copies in its first week setting a record.
                She is a dynamic artist known for her smooth voice, sweet guitar playing, and her heartbreaking songs. Red basically explains every teenage girls problems. Red has blown up since it came out and still selling millions.  She has completely outdone herself and is surprised to see the turnout. She is also one of the kindest hearts in the pop music industry. Out of almost 30,000 views on iTunes it has received 4.5 star rating out of 5, with the usual skeptics. Good kid m.A.A.d city

The new artist known as Kendrick Lamar has just come out with his first masterpiece, Good kid m.A.A.d city. It is an album all about Kendrick, it takes on a classic side of music mixed with a unique hip hop style. With every son much different than the next, Kendrick couldnt have been more on point. While there have been many incredible albums over the illustrious history of hip-hop, few debut albums have ever been able to accomplish what Kendrick Lamar has.The album takes listeners to Compton during the summer before Lamar entered 11th grade. Malcolm X once said, “It is impossible to understand the present or prepare for the future unless we have some knowledge of the past.” So instead of rapping about the perks of being a rapper in 2012, Kendrick takes us back to his “mad angry adolescent divide,” the meaning in m.A.A.d in his album title, in case anyone was wondering. He takes us back and uses a classical spin on the album to show us his true roots.

      The album has recieved many positive reviews from vaious artists such as Mac Miller and Drake who features in kendricks album. Many rappers say they could not accomplish what Kendrick has in his first album. They say he has truly achieved greatness and there is more to come. Good Music, Cruel Summer

                        GOOD MUSIC CRUEL SUMMER

Kanye West along with other various artist came out with his most recent masterpiece: Good Music Cruel Summer. It was released September 18th. This album features many artists not just one singer, like Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Pusha T, and more. Personally i like these artists and there is some great songs featured in this album such as "The Morning" or "Clique" which are most likely the top two songs. But with more than 4 artists, the album contains 10 songs. It seems as if they didn't put enough effort into an album with so much hype. I liked a couple songs but feel like much more effort could be put in. Others seemed to have mixed reviews as well.
            This album also takes on the illuminati as saying they are blamed for being a part of it but are proud. Artists like Big Sean and Kanye West feel as if they have taken on a form of God, which is the ultimate ego. For those of you who don't know, the illuminati is known as an elite group of people who try to run the world, and they "sell their soul" to the devil. It all seems crazy but is true and they have too big of a chip on their shoulder, i personally think. So do many others. But the album has some great songs, it just needs more effort. Lace Up

MGK otherwise known as Machine Gun Kelly has come out with his debut album, Lace Up. Lace up was released on October 9th, 2012. The phrase "Lace Up"has always been MGK's motto and it basically means "be ready for anything". The album was chosen as an editors choice on iTunes and i now one of the top albums. MGK has taken on an angry personality much like Eminem's approach. This album is full of many collaborations between different artist like Kansas City's own, Tech N9ne. Lace Up is filled with anger, hardcore lyrics, and passionate verses. MGK is loved by many, and hated by few. I for one am a hug Machine Gun Kelly fan and it al started with his first hit "Wild Boy (feat. Walka Flocka Flame)". But many people are pleased with his debut and it is an overall achievement for the young MGK. "Lace Up" is his most popular song on the album so far. But the album only being out 2 days now, anything can happen. MGK is known for his crazy, outspoken, youth that many seem to love. My recommendation: buy Lace Up, you will not be dissapointed.

B.O.A.T.S.- 2Chainz

The recent album by 2 Chainz called Based On a Tru Story also known as B.O.A.T.S. his had high and low reviews. It is known for its upbeat tone and unique lyrics to say the least. Personally i love 2 Chainz but he has received some lob sided reviews. Some great, some not. 2 Chainz used to be known as what is called an underground artist and came from little fame to turning americas heads. Now he has come to this, his bigtime album and to some he blew it but to 2 Chainz fans it was not a disappointment.  He isn't my favorite but i certainly like him behind Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, and the likes of Mac Miller. People need to realize his success, respect him, and overall enjoy it. If not then find an artist who you can write good about. But, 2 Chainz in no way has disappointed with this alum and also making countless appearances in hit singles.
